Puddle Jumpin'

All of that snowfall from Sunday made some mighty fun puddles when the sun came out today! It was so warm that we had to take advantage of the great outdoors. Kyle had a blast just being a boy! He jumped in puddles for over an hour and a half. (It would have been longer if the darn sun wouldn't have gone behind the clouds!) It was one of my first mommy experiences where I held myself back from being too overprotective and let him just have a good ole' time. He was soaking wet from the waist down, and loving every minute of it! This toddler stuff is so much fun!

I have to apologize for the video angle. Dumb me shot it like I was taking a picture, not realizing that I couldn't just rotate the video. It was such cute footage that I wanted to share...just turn your head on an angle!

Snow Day!

Yesterday sure turned out to be a fun day. I didn't realize until we woke up Sunday morning that it had been snowing throughout the night. Not just snow, but FUN SNOW! (And LOTS of it!) It is rare that snow out here is the wet sticky stuff that you can actually play in. After we ate a warm breakfast we bundled up and headed outside for some shoveling and playing. Kyle was a little unsure of the snow at first, but eventually he 'warmed' up to the idea and had a fun time. Before long, others in the neighborhood started coming out of their houses too. We ended up having quite the enjoyable morning playing outside and getting to know our neighbors better.

Bless his heart, I think Scott spent about 3 1/2 hours shoveling. First he shoveled our driveway, then headed over to start helping the Jensen's. Then he and Jared realized that one of our neighbors was outside all by herself trying to shovel her driveway in a dress so they helped her...then two other neighbors received the helping hands of Scott and Jared. They then finally went back to finish the Jensen's. In the mean time another two to three inches more had fallen on our driveway again, so he re-shoveled ours. Needless to say he was EXHAUSTED! He finally came in and took a nice long hot bath.

There was a point yesterday, after Kyle and I had come inside, that I looked outside and was overcome with some very strong feelings. It has been my dream since we've been married to live in a 'real house' in a 'real neighborhood'. I realized yesterday how truly thankful and blessed I am to be living where we are. Being in the back of the cul-de-sac we have a great vantage point down our whole street. All of the neighbors up and down the street were all out shoveling their driveways and walkways. Neighbors were helping neighbors, it was really neat. To somebody who has lived in a neighborhood environment for a long time, this may not seem like a big deal, but to me, it was just awesome! What a beautiful sight. I really am so thankful for our new house and the opportunity we have to live in this neighborhood, and I pray that I never take it for granted.

Can He Build It? Yes He Can!

Saturday's at the Pugmire house are work days! We've been wanting to hang these shelves since we moved in, and have just now decided where to put them and how to do so. It was quite the ordeal, and Daddy's little helper wasn't exactly the best asset, but we were persistant and finally got them up. Scott is definitely a handy guy to have around! (For more reasons than handy work, that just happens to be what I am thankful for today.)

Feature Product Friday

Okay, so most of you who look at this know that I am a Close To My Heart consultant. Actually most of you who view this like to buy their things too! I thought I'd start 'Feature Product Friday' to be able to show you some of the fun new things that CTMH is constantly coming out with. Now that we live further away it'll be like a mini show each Friday! If this is something you're not into, just ignore my Friday posts!

So, todays product is.....drum roll.....
*Simply Snapshots (Rough 'N Tumble) Album Pages. They are found on page 38 of the current Spring 2007 Catalog. (Upper right hand corner) The package includes twelve 9x9 pages with spaces for two 4"x6" photos and journaling. All for only $8.95

There are a lot of features about these pages that I REALLY Love! First, you can put them verically or horizontally, depending on the photos that you are using. Second, each sheet is two sided. One side has the stripes and the other side has the dots. They are super cute to mix 'n match. Third, literally all you have to do is stick your photos to the pages, journal, and go! Last but not least, they currently come in two different styles, the boyish/elementary colors
shown above, and also a Chocolate/Cream/Pink color scheme. One thing (among many) that these pages would be good for are Grandparent Bragg Books. They would take literally no effort, but still make something attractive for those we love!

I totally had the itch last night to do a little scrapbooking, but knew that I didn't have a lot of time. I had some photos that were perfect for this paper and whipped this two-page spread out in no time! My only real variations are that I decided to mat my photos (it's an obsession of mine!) and add some stamped/cut out letters. I am excited with the finished product!

So this is the last bit of information... Each product that is highlighted throughout the month will be available to purchase AT MY COST! This offer is obviously available only through me as a special little something to my closest friends and family! So the cost for this product (either the Rough 'N Tumble Pages or the More To Adore Pages) is just $6.99 (+normal tax and shipping) during the month of February. I'll be placing my last February order next Tuesday, February 27th.

Book Tag

I got tagged by Lynette!

The Rules of the game:

1. Find the nearest book to you.
2. Name the book and author.
3. Turn to page 123.
4. Go to the fifth sentence on the page.
5. Copy out the next 3 sentences and post to your blog.
6. Tag three other people.

Book: On Secont Thought Author: Robison E. Wells

"I saved you a seat," I said cheerfully, turning around.
It was Jenny.
I had a friend once who was watching a movie at a party.

I tag... Melissa J., Lindsey S., and... Okay, I sort of have to brake the rules, because I don't know anybody else who hasn't already been tagged. I'm still a Blogging rookie! Good luck to the ladies I tagged!

So it was inevitable that as soon as I posted about Kyle being the little Charmer that things would go 'sour'. And I mean literally sour! Lets just say that my car doesn't exactly smell fresh right now. Kyle's alter ego *Destructo-boy* kicked into full gear last night. He must have gotten excessively bored in the car last night and somehow managed to finagle the top of his sippy cup off (a combination of loosening the lid and pushing the plastic part in) and dumped almost a full cup of milk onto himself and the car. It was pretty nasty, but has given me the extra push that I've been needing to clean out my car! But seriously though, I thought the whole idea of a sippy cup was to prevent spilling? -- Just a little food for thought!

He's a Charmer!

Do you know those days where your child seems to behave and just be generally plesant for a whole day? We have had three of those days in a row! I try to not be the pridefull or braggy type but Kyle has been a joy the last three days and I just had to share.

What a fun stage we are at. Kyle is constantly babbling, but to him it is full conversation. He will go up to people and talk talk talk, ending with his voice raised like he's asking questions. Rarely is anything he says distinguishable, but its cute nonetheless. He is loving nursery at church and didn't cry at all this last week when we dropped him off. I think that his daily trips to the 'KidCare' at the Rec. Center where I exercise has helped the whole nursery situation. He has finally realized that Nursery/KidCare is a time to play with lots of fun toys and that Mom and Dad will be back to get him soon. What a relief it is to not have to stress about him being upset the whole time.

I went to an activity at the church this evening and had to take Kyle, (Scott was shooting with guys from work) he ran right into the nursery and said "Bye Mama." After I came back to pick him up, the ladies that were in there tonight were gushing over him. They kept saying how cute and happy he is, etc. etc. It just made me feel so good. Everybody likes to hear good things about their kids. The ladies in our ward are just so sweet. I really appreciated their kind words. I only hope that they can remember nights like tonight - when the little man decides to slip into his alter ego, "Destructo-Boy" - they may think twice about all their nice comments!

51

Can you guess what the number 51 represents? That would be the temperature of our house this morning at 7:00 AM - holy stinkin' cold! The good news is that we made it through the night and all is well. The propane company came by 9:30 this morning, and we are back in action! Heat is a wonderful thing. (I obviously wouldn't have made a good pioneer.)

We took this picture before we had gas... It was odd having to wear beanies inside the house to stay warm. We tried to make the best of it!

BURRRR - It's Cold in Here!

The true extent of our 'rookieness' in being new homeowners was not realized until this evening. It turns out that we were naive in our thinking that since we had set up an account with the propane company and even paid a month's worth into their budget billing program that they would 'top us off' as promised every four to five weeks. NOT SO!

We were sitting in our family room this evening and started to feel a little chilly. Scott got up to flip on our gas fireplace and it didn't ignite... neither did our gas range... You got it, we ran out of propane. SERIOUSLY bad timing. (It's 10:30 pm and the temp in our house is down to 62 degrees and dropping.) Yes, ultimately it was our fault for not checking the propane gage, but the propane company is suppose to fill us every few weeks. Scott promptly got on the phone with the propane company's emergency line and we were told "sorry, we must have just overlooked your paperwork" and that they will be to our house by 6:30 am tomorrow. Kind of a big mess-up. Needless to say we don't have heat or hot water for the duration of the evening. Lucky for us we do have one space heater that we used in the other house, so it is running strong in Kyle's room. Scott and I will have to find other ways to keep warm. Yea us! (Did I just type that? It was suppose to be my inside voice!)

We're Connected!

I promised that I'd start a 'blog' once we finally got our internet up and running. I no longer have an excuse!

So Miss Lynette, you have quite the power of persuasion! You've talked many a people into starting their own blogspots...I just hope that I can live up to your expectations. With us moving out to the middle of nowhere, it will be fun to keep you all involved in our lives. I am excited to have finally joined 'the blogger' community. (It is quite the distinguished group I hear!)
