Hooray for Milestones!

It's official! Colby is now a sitter. (Since he's still a beginner, the boppy is nice to help avoid head injury in case of getting a little to excited. What can we say? He's got a big head and sometimes it just gets a swingin' in the wrong direction!)
I SO love this stage. Not that I haven't enjoyed them all, but this one is nice. They are still essentially a blob and aren't mobile yet, but so much more happy because they can see the world around them better and interact more with big brother. Kyle is already paying more attention to Colby now that they can sit together and 'play'.

(Wow. Two posts in one day, it's like some kind of record or something!)

Rough day on the job

Yesterday was rough...on all of us. Do you ever have those days at your house? I felt much the same as Colby, but it is not nearly as cute to see a 28 year old grown woman cry and throw a tantrum as it is to see a baby. Hopefully today will be better.

Gingerbread Houses

On Sunday we were all snowed in. Not even any church. The perfect opportunity to stay in and decorate gingerbread houses! This was the first time that I have ever attempted to make gingerbread houses from scratch. The whole process takes a couple of days, especially when you are making more than one house, but the whole experience was so much fun. Home made gingerbread houses will definitely be a new tradition in the Pugmire house.

We decorated them with our 'east coast family', the Madrishin's, and some new friends of ours a young couple, the Dzado's. We put everybody's name into a hat and drew out for teams. It was fun to mix up families and see what everybody created. Scott, Kyle and I all ended up on different 'teams'. The night was super fun and everybody left on a sugar high! It was a great way to start the week leading into Christmas.

The Weather Outside is Frightful....

Question: What do you do when you wake up to THIS outside your front door on a Saturday morning?
(I opened the door to take the picture, the snow has drifted like CRAZY. Can you see the faint light of our christmas lights buried deep in the snow?)

Answer: You cuddle up close to your best friend and watch Saturday morning cartoons...

You make gingerbread houses...

Then you bundle up tight and head out to play in the snow...
Although Scott didn't exactly 'play'... (and Colby was only out for about ten minutes.)

Thanksgiving

This post is long overdue, but late is better than never! We had a GREAT Thanksgiving. While we weren't able to spend the holiday with our family back in Utah, we did get to spend it with our east-coast family away from family. The Madrishin's hosted a fantastic dinner. Thank you!

We had TWO turkeys. The Carlsons fried a turkey, and the Madrishins baked one. Both were OH SO YUMMY! There was an abundance of food. Among a handful of other things, I made my first apple pie. Not only did it look good, but it tasted delicious too!

The kids all had a blast. They were able to be wild and crazy together in the basement. The perfect holiday.

We have so much to be thankful for.
